At a Chapter 28 meeting in January of 1993, John Darrow presented a program on clocks of Art Nouveau and Art Deco design. He had provided many examples of the two styles from his own collection. The program was a stunner ! How had so many of us overlooked the fine lines, textures, materials, and design that added up to sheer beauty in these timekeepers ? Within an hour of his program our theme for the 1996 Annual meeting had been decided. We resolved to publish a book and mount an exhibit illustrating these unique and often overlooked styles.
